NEW BERLIN COUNCIL ADOPTS 2026 BUDGET, MAINTAINS TAX RATE

PA NEW BERLIN — New Berlin Borough Council adopts 2026 budget with tax rate unchanged. The council unanimously approved the 2026 budget and maintained the tax rate at 4.6 mills on December 10, with Councilwoman Julianne Finkbiner sponsoring both motions. Mayor Scott Benfer honored Finkbiner with a proclamation recognizing her 20 years of borough service, including 13 years as Council President and leadership of the Finance Committee.
The council also formed a Solicitor Search Committee, with Councilman David Farmer, Councilman Gregory Ohlfs, Police Chief Joshua Dreisbach, and Secretary/Treasurer Rebecca Witmer joining President Meghan Shambach on the committee.
