Council Establishes Public Safety and Walkability Committee

PA NEW BERLIN — New Berlin Borough Council formally establishes Public Safety and Walkability Committee. President Meghan Shambach appointed Councilman John Showers, Councilman David Farmer, and Councilman Michael Palermo to the committee, which may include up to six community members tasked with researching town safety incidents, walkability conditions, and accessibility concerns throughout the municipality. Council unanimously approved a $2,940 contract with SRS for electrical restoration at The Commons and authorized a $500 engineering assessment of a deteriorating Walnut Street wall.
An investigative committee was established to examine an employee complaint against a Council member, with Councilman Showers opposed and Councilwoman Stamm abstaining.
