PA NEW BERLIN — New Berlin Borough Council hired SRS for $2,940 to restore electricity at The Commons and unanimously approved assessment of a deteriorating Walnut Street wall capped at $500. President Meghan Shambach established a Public Safety and Walkability Committee comprising Councilmen John Showers, David Farmer, and Michael Palermo, empowered to recruit six community members, following community debate over a safety grant project. The council also accepted the resignation of Street Department Laborer Michael Mattocks effective July 1 and approved advertising his replacement.

An investigative committee comprising Councilmen Gregory Ohlfs, Barry Kuhns, and Michael Palermo was appointed after a one-hour closed executive session, with the motion carrying 5-1-1 after Councilman Showers opposed and Councilwoman Barbara Stamm abstained.
