PA NEW BERLIN — New Berlin Council approves fireworks contract, hires patrol officer. The Borough Council unanimously authorized the $7,500 fireworks expenditure, though Solicitor K. Michael Sullivan raised concerns about liability provisions assigning debris cleanup to the borough.

Council President Meghan Shambach undertook to review the specific terms. The Council also unanimously voted to hire Colby Russell as a part-time patrol officer on probationary status at standard rates, following a Police Committee interview.
