PA NEW BERLIN — New Berlin Borough Council selects Riteway Paving for $61,840.70 Liquid Fuels project. President Meghan Shambach and the council voted unanimously to award the paving contract to Riteway instead of lowest bidder Gutelius, citing prior performance concerns about the contractor's manhole cover work for the Municipal Authority. Street Department Supervisor Curt Keister expressed confidence in Riteway's crew, noting the foreman previously worked for Big Rock Paving and was easy to work with.
The council also voted unanimously to place surplus corrugated metal pipe on Municibid with a $500 reserve and approved payment of bills totaling $20,010.78.
