Borough Council approves school resource officer agreement; three police resign

PA NEW BERLIN — New Berlin Borough Council approved a renewed school resource officer agreement at $31 hourly with Sun Area Technical School for 2026-2027, including 3% annual increases. Chief Joshua Dreisbach announced three police officer resignations: Officer Mosso effective July 13 and deploying with the Pennsylvania National Guard; Officer Miller effective July 13 accepting a position with the Attorney General's Office; and Officer Gehman effective immediately. The Council unanimously approved an application for PennDOT's Local Technical Assistance Program to fund a walkability consultant and authorized obtaining quotes to replace deteriorating poles and upgrade electrical systems at The Commons.
